Here's how you can enhance your visibility and influence within your organization for a potential promotion.

Listening and being heard is a valuable lesson I've learned from networking in organizations. Networking is helpful as a learning tool that can be translated to influence and increase visibility. When you try to actively do it and stay genuine about it, it becomes like the old term, water cooler conversation. Watercooler conversations used to describe something that many people talk about at work, for example when they stop work to drink something at the water-cooler. Networking allows you to learn about people, organizations, and perspectives that may not be shared formally. Networking provides insights and opportunities to listen, learn, and influence if you can objectively share a perspective broader than your own.

Esta dica é VALIOSÍSSIMA. Ninguém é promovido se não for bem visto pelos seus pares e pelos superiores, afinal, será com eles que você trabalhará diretamente. Portanto, construa redes em todos os níveis e áreas possíveis. Construa a sua imagem como alguém responsável, agradável e que inspira confiança. Se as pessoas gostarem de você e de trabalhar com você, dificilmente você não será promovido (e essas pessoas vão naturalmente te ajudar a chegar lá: todo mundo quer "aliados" por perto).

A visão e a percepção são fatores significativos nas promoções, mas é importante que os processos de avaliação sejam justos e transparentes. Um ambiente de trabalho que valoriza a contribuição individual e promove um sistema de reconhecimento justo tende a incentivar o crescimento profissional de todos os funcionários de maneira equitativa.

If you see an area where a business can improve its processes, internal stakeholder experience, or customer experience - share your insights with your manager to understand how you might help to solve for the gap or opportunity that you see. Share not only the feedback about what you’re noticing but also think of solutions for how it could be addressed or improved. Think about what you’d need to implement the change as well as who else you’d need to involve to get buy in / perspective. Finally, make sure to think about impact - why it matters and how it can be measured so leadership can decide how to best prioritize your idea into an initiative.

Por experiência própria, foi assim que eu sai da coordenação de um projeto local para a coordenação do portfólio nacional de projetos com vários públicos distintos. Mostre que você JÁ ESTÁ PRONTA.

Deixe as pessoas saber o quão boa você é no que você faz. Compartilhe em reuniões, evitando ser aquela pessoa que só fala de si, mas contribuindo para uma discussão de forma assertiva e dando também os devidos créditos ao restante da equipe (isto demonstra humildade).

I have found people "show up" much better once they understand their authentic traits and skillset. too many are still working through using a skillset that doesn't really belong to them, but it is one they adopted along the way in their career. It is important to show up authentically and this empowers you to be willing to be vulnerable and real. Do you really know how you communicate, how others see you and what skillset is uniquely yours? Maybe it is time to find out who you are from the inside outso you can build a foundation of truth and authenticity you can build on so you can "show up" and "stand out" confidently and successfully. Invest in you and uncover the real you. Everything becomes easier. You will be glad you did!
