Yes I agreed. A simple step like talking about safety before any event by asking the team to identify the potential hazards and how to manage them will help to get everyone to be alert on taking the precautions to avoid unwanted accident. If this be done regularly everybody in the team will be aware the importance of taking necessary precautions and eventually it will be a culture in the organisation to have safety in mind in all its activities.
