Doing that will probably avoid some mistakes when drafting your GDD. You can just ask AI tools like chat GPT to analyze and summarize users' feedback on your top competitors on Steam. Usually, you will get surprisingly accurate insights. Also, there should be a vibrant Discord server with active polls on planned or recently released updates. You don't want to wait for angry comments on Steam or any other store.

Let’s say you developed a game feature that players absolutely loved! Great, now dissect it. Was it the intuitive interface? The rewarding feedback loop? The seamless integration with the game’s core mechanics? Understanding these aspects allows you to replicate and enhance them in future projects. While these prototypes are great for conveying your game vision and testing its feel, they often fall short when it's time to progress. After investing in quick prototypes, I've often had to explain that their code can't be meaningfully reused for building an MVP or open beta. When looking for an affordable vendor, ensure that what you receive is something you can build upon without incurring significant costs for code refactoring. This will save you time and money in the long run.
