It's really important to make sure everyone is clear about their specific role before you start the event planning process, and utilise the skills your team has. Put people in charge of things they are good at, whether that's tracking budget, looking after creative output or scheduling resource. If people stick to their roles and are aligned with the goal of the event, you can be sure that any decision made is going to be the most efficient and effective decision, and will avoid any time spent going back and forth on decisions.

Couldn't agree more here. When we first started out, we opted for what we could get and the time people could give to make the event happen. Now as the event has grown, just as its needs, we've taken the approach of assessing what could've gone better and what specific tasks had gaps. From there we've been able to establish clear roles alongside definitive tasks and responsibilities so that each member is contributing to the success of the event, in the way that the event needs them to continue growth.
