Using humility as a leader is a way of communicating and expecting that no one is perfect and it is ok to do mistakes until one understands the depth and consequences of it. Being vulnerable helps the entire team get a message that we are thriving towards a better tomorrow. Keeping an open door policy at the leader’s stage is very important for people to feel yours and emit their vulnerability.

Embracing vulnerability as a leader means being open about your limitations and uncertainties. In supply chain management, this could involve admitting when a particular strategy or decision did not yield the expected results. For example, if a decision to switch suppliers resulted in delays, openly discussing this mistake with the team and seeking their input on how to improve the process demonstrates humility. This openness can reduce blame and foster a collaborative environment where team members feel safe to share their own challenges and ideas for improvement.

La humildad está muy relacionada con el concepto de "vulnerabilidad". Y es que la vulnerabilidad enamora. Lo contrario genera desconfianza. Piénsalo, cuando hablas con una persona por primera vez y todo es yo, y lo bien que le va todo, nunca tiene un problema, etc. eso repele. Nos genera desconfianza y es que detrás de esa máscara de perfección se esconden miserias como en casi cualquier persona y/o familia. La diferencia es como afrontamos las conversaciones siendo conscientes de que no somos perfectos y mostrándonos como somos (confianza) o haciendo un papel como un actor (desconfianza). Solo las personas humildes pueden empatizar, comprender, sentir que el error es humano,...y por consiguiente ceder en un conflicto.

La experiencia me ha enseñado que, al resolver un conflicto, debemos aceptar con humildad que podemos cometer errores, asi el colaborador también comprende que el cometer errores es parte del aprendizaje y el crecimiento, de esta manera al cometer un error te lo comunicará y no ocultará un acontecimiento que aun se puede resolver o será más fácil con la sinceridad del colaborador. Aprende a escuchar, no te exaltes y apoya, veras un cambio en tu aquipo.

Communication is ultimately the key to success. Be it in a relationship, or business, communication helps clear confusion, doubts, and any negative thought that comes to mind. However, communication should also be done in a way, that the other party listens closely, and acknowledges it.

One of the important topics besides active listening is the awareness of negotiation techniques. If we know about these techniques, we can have effective negotiations with people by using them. It also helps to get closer to the desired solution in the negotiation process by hearing all the issues and conflicts.

I think that in case of conflict as a leader we shall not speak or just to ask questions like « what happen? », « why? », « why it is important for you? » « how do you think a fair resolution of this problem could be found? What is your proposal? » and we can take notes, ask this to all stakeholders of the conflict, separately. Then ordering your notes you can figure out a common solution that will be acceptable for everyone.

Foster Open Communication Active Listening: Listen attentively to all parties involved in the conflict without interrupting. Validate their feelings and perspectives. Encourage Openness: Create an environment where team members feel safe to express their concerns and viewpoints. Make it clear that all voices are important and valued.

If you feel strongly about something, voice it as this what you would do, but put a caveat that it can be ignored if the other person has already thought about it Ask meaningful questions , don't try to be prescriptive all the time. Ground yourself on facts, but at the same time let the person know you understand how they are feeling. Be comfortable operating the in the realms of both data and emotions More often than not , people just want to be heard. Do that in a respectful and meaningful way.

It's very important to set up fed back loops Why ? 1) it ensures everyone's voice is heard which makes all the employees feel important 2) It's not possible for the manager/TL who deligates the work to know if or not the work is getting done fluently or if anyone is facing any kind of issues carrying out the work. A constant feed back is very important as it acts as a bride between the manager and his team. Lack of feedback from the team will only add hindrance to task.
