Engaging in an outreach requires alot; -Study the community you like to carryout the outreach by doing assessments of safety and Security, the people's needs, culture, socio-political, general information of the community etc. -Understand your own personality and the people then you can do a community engagement if acceptance is given in the community.

Golden rules for community engagement - go where the people are. Engage all sectors of the community. Provide value. Listen and learn. Build your network. Engage!

Within the LGBTQ community you're talking about one of the largest intersectionality groups of people that there is with so many identities from pansexual bisexual gay lesbian tries gender and so on the list is endless and trying to incorporate everything everyone as quite tedious at times but it is very beneficial to make sure that everyone is included

If we don't know the community we are unable to provide any meaningful input or perspectives It is important to be interested in listening to all those in the community and hear their stories to be able to have some understanding

Ask, meet, learn , establish relationships or just once, multiple times, be transparent, collaborate, codesign, be open, fund work more and ask finders vitally to allow for this work to happen, it can often be slow but wee worth it for all

Intersectionality should highlight the importance of community. Community is a salient value for many Americans. Intersectionality recognizes this connection to community and amplifies the importance of ensuring that all members of the community are respected and enjoy access to opportunity. We should strive to include everyone in our work toward promoting social justice. We are all in the fight together and should develop narratives that ensure that none of us get left behind. Building community and encouraging alliances, coalitions, and looking out for each other will help us solve problems.

In my experience when you get to know the people in your community and their cultures you not only see the differences but similarities to other cultures. Learning to appreciate what everyone brings to the table only benefits the community at large.

Intersectionality should encourage cross-community, cross-sector and cross-issue collaborations, investing equally in each others’ issues, narrative goals and policy agendas. One thing that can be done to evaluate the efficacy of outreach is through surveys. Ask the community you are serving what their opinion is on your work and in what areas they build there is room for improvement and if our outreach is missing something in it to make it more efficient.

Don't believe everything you read and/or assume a community is a certain way, get to know them and learn from them, let them teach you about their community, they know what they need and want. Let the people in the community participate in the decision-making and empower them to advocate for them selves and their community needs

I am currently in the process of launching Community School on Patreon. This is my way of knowledge sharing and breaking down the gatekeeping of critical theory, scholarly research, sociological academia, and more that marginalized folks can use to empower themselves and relate to their own lives; as people, activists, and organizers. Through these efforts, I also hope that my community, friends, chosen family, peers, and colleagues will feel more autonomy and agency over their bodies and lives to make informed decisions in regards to housing, medicine, school, and more. It is easy for the oppressed to feel helpless and disempowered by white supremacy, however, as US citizens, we have much more power than we are led to believe we do. ✊🏽

If you aren’t able to do this authentically through lived experience and with the guidance of respected community elders, any strategy will fail. Intersectionality requires us to be adaptive in socio emotional ways we aren’t used to in order to deepen our commitment to our values and our work.

Connect with the community and people you are serving, listen to what they are trying to tell you, be supportive, and always let them know they are not alone. Also, although you may not fully understand what they are going through you will help them to the best of your abilities, but never promise anything unless you are completely sure you will do it.

Reparenting and unlearning to RElearn is a long and hard process for all of us. It’s hard for white folks and BIPoC alike. Breaking down that what we grew up on and read in textbooks as children was a lie, riddled with racial biases and political agendas, is hard. Even our doctors are still practicing eugenics (AKA medical racism!) because they were taught it was legitimate science. We all have learning and growing to do. But we can’t do it alone. However, we aren’t doing it for ourselves, we are doing it for each other. We’re doing it for the younger generations. We are doing it for the greater good and whole of humanity. How else can we respect each other if we don’t know how to treat each other? Let’s ask and let’s learn.🌈
