How can you show your fintech expertise to employers?

Also, your resume should contain some achievements you have made in the Fintech space, either in the building, testing, marketing or onboarding. It is important you make your achievements quantifiable and specific. For example; - Worked with the tech and marketing team of XYZ company to design the flow and UX of their Fintech app which garnered 10k users within 30 days.

One needs to make sure that person is really passionate about the area of work the company is focusing on . It should not be just at curiosity level where one just got interested because it is the popular thing in the market. One can truly demonstrate the passion by thorough understanding of the work area by doing some courses, volunteering some hands on work, making the list of experiences he/she got from it, list of learnings about what were mistakes and how they could have been avoided etc . Openly talk about it during an interview.

Knowing the company's culture, the future road map is good. People need to find out what problems the company is looking to solve , are these problems specific to industry where applicants have interest and expertise in . Also the company's willingness to invest and rigor to resolve the given problem is also important. One needs to check how much in the past the company has shown resilience to stay course to achieve goal when faced with adversity.

I think using the company's product has always been useful. I use the product to ask meaningful questions and make suggestions wherever I can. It's not only for pointing out mistakes or deficiencies. It's also an opportunity to demonstrate that you're a problem solver. I remember interviewing one crypto-exchange company and finding limited on-ramp and off-ramp capabilities. During the interview, I asked them why they weren't partnering with particular firms or expanding their payment abilities within their regulatory authorisation and made suggestions. I believe it put me ahead of many other candidates. Because it showed two things: I am interested, and my problem-solving skills are more than just some words in the CV.

It is important to remember that tech is not all that is to Fintech. Fintech is useful when people can use it to solve their finance related needs. Beyond the tech, it is important to demonstrate in relatable terms, the user success stories connected to your past projects/works. Anybody could have tech skills but not everyone can convert that to a people focused solution. One could have Fintech skills and end up not bringing value to a company, owing to lack of people/marketing or UX skills. Without this embedded to tech skills there are chances that the tech skills might yield no positive results.
