How can you use the flow to organize your arguments in a Policy debate?

The concept of the flow in an argument is really an update of strategies found in classical rhetoric. To have a stepping stone argument can be reductive and in a way counterproductive. Rather than naming those in an argument "opponents" it is best to see them as an audience. Bearing in mind that to persuade an audience there must be a reward or benefit, it is best to allow them to develop their argument, first and go with the flow, gently modifying your argument to take on board their thoughts, and use this to gently nudge them toward what would be a mutually beneficial goal. In other words your opponents are in fact stakeholders or quasi team members. Go with their flow - that does not mean the logical stepping stone approach.
