How do you adapt social media training for different levels of expertise?

Just recently had this experience: when it comes to assessing your learners, there’s no “one-size-fits-all” approach. Everyone obviously learns differently, but most companies now have several different generations within the same company, or even department. Taking those factors into account, make sure your assessments reflect the demographics, learning styles, and what it is you’re *actually* teaching. Overall, remember to have empathy.

Yes, this is very true. Knowing learners current level is the most important and the first step. Learners level depends on their past qualifications and work experiences. The best way to figure out the current level of your learners is by asking the right questions with the help of survey or interview.

Very important point but also a difficult one. I often receive requests to deliver a training on social media usage or personal branding. But how do you asses on which level your audience is currently at? I like to give my listeners a first task before the training to make sure they have an account (yes, sometimes it's that basic) and to do some research for inspiration. That's also a great ice breaker when starting the main training - you have an interactive part right in the beginning so you make sure, your audience is directly engaged. You will learn a lot from the first minutes and you can define which parts of your presentation to stress the most. What I learned: Don't be surprised if someone never heard of social media before.

I agreed. Many learners prefer live webinars, while some other choose recorded video. Podcast might be not fit for those who are just starting out as a beginner.

There is no one size fits all when it comes to learning. This is why I love content repurposing. Someone may like to read blogs but someone else may not. Someone else may love to listen to podcasts and someone may choose to read intead. You broaden your audience. So when it comes to social media we all have different learning styles and adapting how you will deliver your message is key.

An organized campaign can be fun and engaging for your audience. Using LinkedIn and other social media platforms can have a great impact. Things like live sessions and newsletters can also bring a group together to rally support for a product or company.

Adding Examples is one of the best way to teach other. I always add examples and relevant case studies in my digital marketing course.

Constructive criticism is so important. It allows us to see what is working well or not working well. This will help to adjust the trainings if need be.

In my experience I prefer training based on what each member likes doing best and by simply asking that question you find the best results in a 360 manners where one enjoys content creation and another likes planning and posting and another prefers the analytical part of social media performance Bringing them together for brainstorming sessions lead by performance the results keeps getting better and most importantly everyone is having fun doing what they do
