In my experience, you need to conduct two types of needs analysis. First of all take a look at your organisational needs analysis, taking a helicopter view of the knowledge, skills and behaviours that your employees need as an organisation as a whole. The second is an individual training needs analysis where you look at individual roles and the skills and competencies that each person needs to be excellent in their role to contribute to the overall objectives of the organisation.

Assess the needs by conducting thorough consultations with stakeholders and clients to identify their specific goals and challenges. Use surveys or interviews to gather detailed input on desired outcomes and training objectives. This helps tailor the leadership training to address their unique requirements effectively.

Before designing or delivering leadership training, conduct a thorough needs assessment to comprehend the client's context, goals, and gaps. This process entails collecting data from various sources, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, and documents.
