I totally agree that assessing your current situation first step, and I would widen that way beyond work. Work it one part of who we are, and it need to be aligned with who we are as a human being. My advice: be brave enough to do a deep dive into you, who are you, what matters to you - what do you want to contribute? These are all big questions, and most of us have to do a bit of 'suck it and see' to find what fits, what makes us happy and what drains us. It's ok to be work in progress.

Think really big - even if it feels scary or unrealistic, this way you know where you're going even if you don't yet have all the route details. You only need to know the next step to make progress. A word on limitations - we can't all be good at everything, obviously, but don't get to hung up on what you're not good at unless it is directly in the way of what you want. Amplifying what your are good at and enjoy is a much more satisfying way to make progress in your career of choice.
