Develop clear support procedures. Also, hold a closure meeting 1 month after to review success, document lessons learned, and archive final documents. Use RACI charts and configuration management tools for a streamlined handover. Consider additional staff training to empower them with the new solution. This comprehensive approach ensures a smooth transition and maximizes the value of your project.

As a MSP - I’d encourage IT project teams to ask MSP’s what their transition plan and process is PRIOR to selecting and awarding the project. There are many great project integration companies out there, but unless there are set processes and teams devoted to the transition phase, much of the project deliverable will be lost. Of course, the correct tools are also important to the process: *Is there a central depository for information? Dropbox, SharePoint, Knowledge? *What project/program management tools are used to keep the project team up to date on the transition? *Is there a CRM and how is communication (like email) tracked?

Conduct a Post-Implementation Review. Use surveys or structured interviews to collect feedback from all stakeholders, including end-users, project team members, and the managed services provider. Ask about their experience, satisfaction with the deliverables, and any issues they encountered. Compare the project outcomes against the predefined success metrics and KPIs. Assess whether the project met its goals in terms of performance, quality, and user satisfaction. Identify aspects of the project that were successful. This might include effective practices, successful strategies, and positive interactions with the MSP. Compile the feedback, performance analysis, and lessons learned into a comprehensive post-implementation report.

Ensure you understand any contractual requirements. You want to be aware of review periods, in some cases you may have ## business days to respond or accept documentation and beyond that it will be considered "complete." You also want to be clear on any post project responsibilities. Often when dealing with an MSP/MSSP you are transitioning a great deal of monitoring and alerting, and knowing who is doing what after the project is closed is important.
