It is important that we set firm expectations for all sub-contractors. After all we are all in the field for two reason. 1. Because we love to build and create. 2. To make Money for our Company. End of story. If the sub cant meet expectations they are tarnishing their image and will not be used again.

A Super and PM must be able to monitor progress continuously. Walk the site frequently and hold sub contractors accountable. If we dont know that there are deficiencies in work then we cannot fix them.

Implementing consequences as per the signed agreement terms and conditions is one of the good practices with subcontractors. Keep such subcontractors under higher pressure formally and through successive meetings. Such subcontractors should be reported as well to the HQ to avoid signing with them in the future.
