Según mi experiencia es de mucha utilidad que los estudiantes puedan identificar con claridad los objetivos a largo plazo y los objetivos a corto plazo. Fijarnos solo en el largo plazo suele generar ansiedad y prisa por avanzar, lo cual suele jugar en contra de la consecución de objetivos que buscamos. Orientar la mirada del estudiante al objetivo a largo plazo y acompañarlo en los pasos para alcanzarlo, es decir, en conseguir los objetivos a corto plazo.

En la preparación del contenido me ha sido de gran ayuda tener siempre presente que la realidad que voy a encontrar en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje puede ser bastante distinta a la que he imaginado. Por ello, según mi experiencia, lo más eficaz es dedicar el 80% del tiempo de la preparación a definir claramente los objetivos y el camino a seguir para alcanzarlos. El 20% del tiempo lo dedico a crear una estructura base de contenidos y a seleccionar los recursos alternativos para poder modificar esa estructura en caso de que la situación lo requiera. En resumen, la estructura es clave pero para ser útil debe ser dinámica. Lo importante es alcanzar el objetivo que se busca, no cumplir con la estructura diseñada.

INTERACT. It sounds so basic but i've witnessed so many tutors and teachers just talk at their students. It needs to be a flowing two-way relationship. If the student isn't engaged then you could be staying the most groundbreaking and useful information but it won't have any effect.

One of the things I find helpful is to have a deeper understanding of your audience, how they are likely to relate to the information you are planning to give, what is the recall value ( and there are several tools available now to track this) and also using cloud sourcing to gather thoughts in the room.
