What can a career coach do for your job search?

When else do you get to talk about YOU, reflect on YOU, get feedback on YOU, and work on making yourself better and happier? I'm talking about uninterrupted, unbiased time. Maybe your therapist's office, but they're likely not equipped (and not there to) help you with all the other things that a coach can help with. Don't underestimate the value of taking this time for yourself.

For example, there are a lot of job boards specifically catering to moms & caregivers needing flexible work options. As a coach for moms, it's key that I have relationships with someone at these companies & use them for my clients when needed. I think some massive job boards have so many applicants flooding their databases, it can be easy for an application to get lost. The hands-on approach at smaller job boards really keeps this from happening.

One thing people often miss about career coaches is how they help you develop a growth mindset. It's not just about polishing your resume or acing interviews. They really teach you to see every challenge as a chance to improve. So, if an interview doesn't go as planned, instead of feeling down, you learn from it and move forward.
