One of things i have found useful is the application of Lean manufacturing techniques to optimize the production process. I have applied Hejunka ( Load levelling) at the sub assembly stations of plastic exterior parts production . Transforming the individual island workstations to "U" cell with conveyorized semi automation was a great experience at my current job, which has resulted in optimization of Head count and elimination of NVA. Another interesting experience is the pull system to establish flow from molding through painting and finally sub assembly to deliver to point of fit at the vehicle line. The quick changeover to meet flexible demand enables proper utilization of capacity to save energy cost & associated "diversity Loss" cost
