What are the long-term environmental effects of agrochemicals and how can you mitigate them?

During my interactions with the farmers in Haryana a couple of years back, I realized that there are insect attacks on the crops which no insecticides and pesticides are able to stop. They said that the insects and pests have become resilient and the soil has no immunity because we have killed the earthworms and other insects which were favorable for the crops. Yesterday, I heard same stories from the farmers in #Balasore, Odisha that after spraying insecticides three times, they were not able to handle the insects. That indicates that it's high time we save soil, and stop applying agrochemicals, chemical fertilizers, and start growing food organic way.

Although agrochemicals could have some positive influence on growing plants and crops, they are so perilous for our environment. For instance, urea is one of the most widely used chemical fertilizers in the world and contains some harmful substances like formaldehyde, which has been perceived as one of the main causes of some dire diseases like cancer. We forget that Nature operates as a system. When we only focus on one thing instead of this system, we make terrible mistakes. For instance, today, we try to eliminate Blight by spraying pesticides. We must reverse that behavior starting today with a renewed focus on supplementing soil organic carbon through all-out implementation of regenerative farming practices.
