I work in a company that promotes and applies a lot of inclusion policies, so we have a lot of people with visual, hearing, tactile, and motor impairments, and we work on projects together on a daily basis. This way, I can keep my design products accessible and inclusive through instant feedback and reviews. This should be a standard procedure in all workplaces, especially because we all, at some point in life, will have some kind of impairment.

Data should be arranged clearly to enable viewers to discover what they're seeking quickly. It goes down to having a simple, uncluttered layout. Important data should be stored in areas that are easy to find and read. Clear icons and buttons with data labels describing their functions are always recommended.

Keyboard Navigation: Design the dashboard so it can be navigated entirely using a keyboard. Color Contrast: Use high-contrast colors and avoid relying solely on color to convey information. Text Size Options: Provide options to adjust text size for better readability. Alt Text: Add alt text to images and charts for users with visual impairments. Simple Layout: Keep the layout clean and uncluttered, with intuitive navigation. Feedback Mechanism: Include a way for users to report accessibility issues.

Many dashboards need to include accessibility features so that people with disabilities can access and interact with them. However, I always suggest that a company should not suppress usability to address accessibility. There can be an effective marriage of usefulness and accessibility.

People with color blindness or other vision problems can distinguish between distinct dashboard areas by using colors that stand out from one another. Also, it is important to stay away from putting colors too near one another because this can block someone's capacity to see the text. Anyone can read the text without putting pressure on their vision if there is a good contrast between the text and the background colors.

Ensure interactive elements like buttons, dropdowns, and filters are easy to identify and use. Provide tooltips or guidance where necessary to explain how to interact with each element.

It’s important to make labels for buttons and links clear and large enough to be easily clicked on any device. You should also include different visual states for interactive elements, such as normal, hover, active, and disabled, to help users understand their actions. Offer tooltips or pop-ups that provide more information without cluttering the main view.

I think tooltips to orient the user are the way to go. They are always there to guide and provide a better user experience. You can be the best dashboard designer, but if somebody can not use it, it is not a good dashboard

Create something, tell a person from the specific area to use it and make them use it without telling them how. Get their feedback and redo it to be more user friendly. After that, tell someone out if the system to bombard the what you did, to click, question and what ever... Upgrade it and ask the real user to test it out... Believe me, it will payoff 👌
