Micro managing negatively affects organisation and delays projects to be delivered in a timely manner. It's important to encourage creativity, problem solving within the team members for it contributes in personal and organisation growth which promotes trust and a sense of responsibility to not only the leaders but the whole team working together and been accountable at the same time. This not only saves time but it creates a great work culture where everyone belongs and it promotes commitment.

When I train my teams, I make it both interactive, meaning they can work together to learn the skills, and personal by requiring a "written exam". I do this by encouraging them to work together. I then assess their skill increase informally through observation, and then present them with focused questions both as an interview and "on paper". If there is a team leader, or supervisor, I utilize that person as a secondary trainer. All of this requires that you to understand what motivates your team and an honest assessment of the consequences you can offer for successfully or unsuccessfully completing the training. Encouraging your team as an inspirational and trusted leader makes the process easier.

This way, you maintain productivity while still fostering collaboration.

A manager once shared a valuable piece of advice with me: you can't always get everything done in one day. The key is to make a list of your tasks and tackle them one by one. If something doesn't get done today, simply move it to the next day. Additionally, take some time to debrief so you can learn from your successes and identify areas for improvement. This way, you learn to work smarter, not harder.
