Transitioning and settling into a new executive leader role? Consider the following steps: - Mindset shift- Get more comfortable with delegation of tasks. The organization and teams need your strategic thinking, not simply managing daily tasks. - Leadership influence- Build relationships and collaborate with your colleagues across functions and departments. - Executive coaching- Have the confidence to seek out a coach who can help guide you in this next era of leadership.

First and foremost, - Don't change, stay yourself. You're growing for who you're as a person first, not what you do. You're going to inspire people because of your behavior. - Focus on people, be a people oriented person. You will build trust and get to know people you work for. - Show transparency, share information's through your different actions. - Ask for a mentoring process, rely on experienced people, listen to them and then adapt to your own style. - Seek for regular feedbacks, 360 reviews. Very key to hear from your peers how they perceive you. My first leadership position happened with the team I was used to be in, my biggest advice is simply not to change, stay the same and learn.

The 1st step is to clearly understand deliverables and stakeholders' expectations from the new role. Not everything is written about a role. Many things are implicit. Reach out to the peers who have been in the role for some time and have done well. Once you have that clarity, reflect about yourself and the expectations of the role in order to understand: a) what you can take care yourself b) where you need help and who can help you and c) your key stakeholders. Understand your team members (their capabilities, aspirations etc.) and build connect with them. Set the goals and allocate work for the team and periodically review. Coach and support where needed and hold people accountable. Maintain 2-way communication with the stakeholders.
