Issue identification starts with awareness of existing of an issue. The issue identification in a conflict resolution is about understanding the motives of each parties. What’s the agenda and objective. Impact of those for each parties and what’s the achievement in it for each. This is uncover the dynamic of conflict. You confirm that the communication is clear with your objective, ask, timeline, if not any other alternatives etc. Mention what’s expected and deliverables.

Be curious. Curious minds are the innovative minds. It finds solution by digging deeper in all angles. Brainstorming, collaboration with diversified thoughts, viewing the same issue in other perceptive and dimensions, what if scenario etc leads to solutions

Let's face it: As much as most of us know that conflict can lead to growth, living it in practice is a different ballgame altogether. To be able to live it in practice at work requires self-awareness, a culture of vulnerability and systems of support. If you are an employee, find the sources of support available to you: through coaching or other mechanisms that can help you deal with conflict in a healthy and constructive way. If you are a manager, model what you'd like to see: let people know conflict is natural. Handle conflict constructively when it shows up. Avoid penalising or blaming approaches and opt for more relational ones. Conflicts occur within contexts, and it's important to acknowledge and work with the contexts as well.
