JavaScript is the unwanted legacy of an era of explosive growth but by no means something one would want to use as a learning entry point. Its lack of data typing, weird object model and inconsistent operators make it unsuitable as an entry level language. Virtually all the frameworks and tech mentioned can be used with TypeScript, a grown up JavaScript that tries to fix some of JS flaws, but sadly fails to do it completely because of the need to remain JS compatible. Do not learn JavaScript (or PHP, for that matter) as a first language. P.S: don’t bother with the “but the latest language versions fix some of these flaws” because you will be working with legacy code 99% of the time so you won’t have the luxury of using these features.

And as it is backed by Microsoft there is no doubt of community and support.

Language features in C# are much richer than java, runtime generics, delegates, events, asyn await (My Fav), LINQ, anonymous types, static class, properties, extension methods, collection initilizers, decimals, unsinged data types, indexers, operator overloading, expressions, dynamic objects etc. It supports multiple IDEs, Visual Studio, SharpDev (now branded as VS for Mac), VSCode (Cross platfom), Jetbrains Rider (Cross Platform). Serverside applications (.Net Core) will run on Linux, Windows and Mac, Client side application will run on Windows (WPF, Winforms), iOS, Android (Xamarin)

C# is a tried and tested language. Most importantly it’s from Microsoft, which means there are tons of support material online along with rich documentation. Any new project to be developed in C# will probably have the least amount of risk.

NET for many years, I've seen massive changes in recent years, bring it's popularity up some, by including features such as the spread element.

I personally love Dart for app development via Flutter, due to the fact that it is system agnostic, and operates like a game engine of sorts, rendering whatever you like to the screen. If you want to operate outside of the bounds of native system limitations, or launch for Android, iOS, and Web all at once, Flutter is a fantastic and relatively new platform to learn!

Some of the new memory safety features apple is adding are cool. Also the way Swift interfaces with Objective C for system libs is pretty cool.

The global economy situation requires high attention to development costs. In that sense, cross platform frameworks can be more beneficial than native ones. Dart with Flutter is a very good alternative in that sense; its ecosystem is very developed, quite stable and there are many apps, on both App Store and Play Store, using it. As always, right choice should be evaluated depending on the specific scenario. Where keeping in sync with iOS ecosystem and innovation is a must, Swift with native development is, IMHO, still the right choice.

Swift is only in use on iOS/Apple devices, whilst other languages can be compiled or run on Apple and other devices. So while swift may provide some ease in accessing Apple only features (such as the apple app store integration), I would discourage users from setting out to learn it without something more used already under their belt.

Nosql helps with the speed and handling large scale unstructured data....some projects might benefit from this...

You learn any language, at a certain point you will be working with a database. being a data wizard is a part of most jobs albeit sql or no sql databases. my advice to someone starting with relational databases would be to pick up industry standard databases like Sql server and/or postgres. get a hang around how they work, tinker and mess with them. get your hands dirty. just getting into a tutorial hell will get you nowhere. learn, experiment, fail and try again. it will improve you as a dev. get a hang around basics of how simple queries work, then move on to advanced topics... stay hungry, stay foolish.

In my extensive experience, I witnessed the advent of NoSQL databases. At the time of their introduction, many developers believed they would replace relational databases. The truth is, NoSQL became an additional tool, often working alongside SQL databases, which remain highly relevant and, in many cases, a mandatory choice for certain applications. I think it will be the same with vector databases, which are growing now, pushed by the AI industry. I’m quite sure that in a few years, many applications will use this type of database as well, but at the same time, SQL will still be around.
