As the items of Jira can be attached, tagged and visualized on Confluence and also vice versa, confluence docs can be attached in Jira issues, it gets easier to manage.

In my team, we have setup multiple dashboards customized out of multiple filters in Jira, and those dashboards are the first ones we start the work with, run the review meetings and plan ahead for the sprint or cycle.
