Last year we had a high volume of videos that we needed to edit each month. I increased the budget on our film shoots to hire editors and delegated around 10-15 social media edits per week to that team and found it allowed us to film with peace of mind knowing we had a crew working on just editing. Communicate early with your clients to allow them to adjust. They hired you for your expertise, so clarity is crucial. Assess if partial completion is viable for a project nearing its deadline. Determine if delivering parts of the project can still meet goals. In a video project, evaluate whether client revisions enhance the campaign or if A/B split testing with the latest revisions is a better approach. For social media deadlines, deliver 2-3 reels daily instead of waiting 14 days for the final 30 reels. Cycle in revised ones as needed. Set clear boundaries and outcomes for project success. Note: have a limit on revisions. If you consistently miss deadlines, consider finding clients who better align with your workflow and timeline.
