As an investment banker who identifies as a storyteller, I’m comfortable with figures and words. However, I’ve noticed that my words and stories have a much higher potency when it comes to engaging a client or audience. Start by identifying the key data points that support your narrative, and then introduce them naturally at pivotal moments in the story. Use visuals like infographics to make complex data more digestible. Lastly, frame the data within an emotional or relatable context, so it feels like part of the story rather than a fact dump.

I like to highlight certain stories while crafting a first draft, and then I'll spend a day researching statistics that bridge the current gap between the target market and the writer's experience.
