First, I would begin by leveraging the strengths of the trainee, thereby fostering trust and confidence. Thereafter, I would provide specific and concrete constructive criticism in specified areas that require improvement for focused guidance and targeted assessment along with provision of resources. Encouraging this particular growth mindset, I will create a tailored development plan along with achievable goals by communicating openly, providing support, and celebrating the progress of the trainee. In doing so, struggles become opportunities for growth without sacrificing their high-performance levels.

I would like to take up the high performing trainee for the coaching or mentoring process rather than getting them into the training. Group coaching is to meet the common objective. But if the trainee is of high potential, then having a coaching session would help them grow

Since she/he is an high-performing trainee I would ask her/him to dig into her/his performances to find areas for improvement. If they find by themselves areas where they struggle then the problem is solved since they will also be able to improve their performances. If they don't I will drive their attention to what they missed to detect and work with them on a program to address the issues
