Here's how you can effectively manage your time and prioritize tasks as a beginner in Automotive Engineering.

To manage time and resources, it is necessary to first find a correct understanding of executive priorities. There are various methods for prioritization, including Pareto, hierarchical planning, project planning based on the critical path, etc. Therefore, after determining the priorities, we should try to accomplish the most work with the least cost (use of time, people, machine and cash). Now, in the automobile industry, for after-sales service, we must design the acceptance of service in the queue in such a way that the most cars receive service in the shortest time and get out of the queue, so the cars with the least problems, despite opposing the principle of scheduling and queuing Priority to receive services.

Create a daily/weekly schedule and stick to it. Allocate time for coursework, labs, projects, and breaks. Use the Eisenhower Matrix to categorize tasks as urgent/important, important/not urgent, etc. and focus on high-priority items. Break down larger projects into smaller, actionable steps to make progress steadily. Minimize distractions by turning off notifications and working in focused blocks of time. I always like to consider informal and formal learning. Formal learning comes from things like attending workshops and seminars, certification programmes, employer training programmes, continuing education through tertiary institutions and professional associations. But often we forget about informal education - on the job training (seek out new experiences and tasks as often as possible), mentorship (find a mentor and stick to them like glue, learn what you can), peer learning (collaborate with you colleagues through group participation, brainstorming and knowledge sharing activities), networking (build relationships beyond your department or group, join professional group) and self-study (technical publications and journals).

In my professional life, I have sometimes found delegation tough (I like to consider myself a recovering perfectionist, I sometimes think that if it needs to be done right, then I must do it myself...). Now I use what I call my "set, forget and review" approach: 1. Assess the task and find the right person/group with the right skills. 2. Provide them with clear instructions, support and resources (but avoid micromanaging - let them decide HOW to achieve the outcome required). 3. Empower them to make decisions about the task and trust them. Set milestones WITH them and identify when you will check in. 4. Provide feedback and recognition throughout. And most importantly, at the end of the task reflect and learn WITH them.
