Acho muito importante ter encontros virtuais. Mas considero fundamental que haja uma razão estratégica de interesse comum para esses encontros. Tenho participado de muitas reuniões extenuantes e pouco produtivas que declaram ter o objetivo de “colocar todos na mesma página “. Na maioria dessas reuniões fico me perguntando se o objetivo de sintonizar e sincronizar as pessoas não poderia ser atingido usando-se um simples e-mail ou mesmo gravando um vídeo rápido com a tal informação relevante.

This is lots of fancy catch phrases and words but I Think it could and should be stated much simpler for us common folk. To me, simply stated means, how do you get everyone on your team on the same page? If they are remote, do you mean they are in another country? Whoever the team is, Zoom and other online methods can help get everyone working on the same business programs, plans and strategies. We don't need all these fancy names to get our team all coordinated and working towards the same result. The best way to do that is: 1. Regular briefings on what is happening in the company, and what is expected. 2. Lots of individual meetings, and training sessions that get everyone working the way it is needed and wanted. TRAINING

Virtual meetings do not allow for the natural conversation that happens around a water cooler. For that reason, remote teams need to be intentional in their relationships. At least two non-optional meetings ... I like group meetings once a week and a 1:1 meeting with each team member at least once every two weeks; more if a project requires it (working meeting). There is a standing agenda and framework in the ongoing meetings; I lead the group meeting. The team members lead their 1:1 meetings based on the goals&strategy we've set and their progress (as well as work&life balance). AND MOST IMPORTANTLY ... we use data to get alignment and make decisions. Lastly, we work together with collaborative tools; either Google/Slack or Office 365.

La confianza es un elemento que aproxima. Además desde la confianza se puede otorgar autonomía a los integrantes del grupo. Es importante tener en cuenta que los líderes no deben olvidar que si generamos equipos de personas talentosas, estos talentos desean superarse y crecer. Si no damos espacio para esto los más capaces se sentirán frustrados y buscaran otros horizontes, perdiendo de esta forma capital humano difícil de reemplazar. Un elemento que recomiendo es dar tareas a los que están a veces en posiciones jerárquicas menos destacadas a liderar un proyecto para realizar un test de sus capacidades y así la persona designada sienta que están dandole responsabilidades y confianza.
