As a Senior In Mechanical Engineering, I have only taken one class in 3D design. The class was awful and made it very difficult to comprehend, I wanted to learn solidworks really badly so I just watched youtube videos. I have been doing freelance 3D design for awhile now and I haven’t come across a problem I haven’t been able to solve in solidworks with youtube. I would say start off easy and go through the instructional videos that show you the layout of solidworks and where everything is. Then start with a small project and keep moving up. It doesn’t take very long to get the basics down which gives you the ability to design a lot of different things.
