If you are new to NLP AND working on low resource languages and working on recent techs such as SLM, LLM etc. gets your hand dirty with one or more high resource languages to grasp the technology first. Once you’ve a clear vision then move to the low resource languages and apply your understanding.

At the other end of your models are real people, doing real stuff, in the real world. You also have to test meticulously and be aware that introducing more training data could make some use cases less performant.
