First thing is to understand the requirement and use-case, then it comes the language. I think it depends on people as many things are doable by a single language but yes If you are a beginner a language with easy syntax and larger community support should be chosen.

I agree with that perspective, sometimes we aim to achieve very big goals and when something happens that stop our progress we feel frustrated and many times we abandon the goal. So that doesn't happen I recommend see how long you have progressed.

The key point here is to set small goals instead of larger one. So that you remain motivated and can walk the long run. Consistency and motivation to be consistent is the key.

I've found helpful do code reviews on github with projects that used the technology and that way you can compare with your own project and improve it.

First watch youtube videos about basic concepts of the language because documentation is in depth and difficult to understand. Once you're familiar with basics, code in that language. Once you gain moderate level knowledge, then is the right time to go with the official dev documentation.

I totally agree with this point, because the chunk of code you did last week many times you can't remember it next. For that reason is a good advice to practice or read the documentation at least.

We should not get overwhelmed by the new language ..start with the basics of the language which any programmer mostly use in their projects and practice those and try to build small projects with the help of these small concepts..projects will help anyone to gain confidence and understand the particular language easily.

You always must go beyond, you start building dummy projects, but there are many problems that need to be solved outside, a good way to find them is asking even your friends or family what process they need to do more efficiently and I guarantee you you will find many opportunities.

There is no way to know everything about most languages. Every learning technique you use brings an additional perspective for that language. For starters I would suggest to: - Read the history of the language to learn why it was made the way it is. - Read all you can about the language. Especially, "best practices" and idioms. - Use the language every day. Usually this means being full-time employed in the language. - Learn to use the frameworks and APIs available for that language. - Work with other people's code! There is no faster way to learn what not to do in a language than to have to clean up after someone who did something awful.
