Before starting any internship, set the right intention of why you want the internship and what you want to learn from each internship you secure. What specific skill would you need to secure the next full time role you want to be working in and what is the exact salary you want. Now work your plan backwards. Imagine you are already in the job, what skills and characteristics would you need? How many months/years experience do you need? What results and outcomes do they need? Who can help you secure that job role? Now start working on getting those skills with 3-6-12 month plan.

Completing different internships can benefit you in alot of ways but here are few what helped me and people around me: 1. Hands-on experience on "real work" with industry professionals. You get to know how, what and when. 2. Chances of getting permanent employment. 3. Increase your network and PR. 4. Chances of getting certified and learn skills. Working as an intern can actually boost your confidence as well, provided working with the right employer. I have seen many getting employed right after their internship as they performed well. Should it be paid or not? For me personally it does not matter, working with big names without being paid has done wonders for alot of people around me as long as it is beneficial and promising.

As far as I see, establishing solid connections with people from where internships are done and making a good impression during an internship are best ways that lead to find a job, especially in those companies. That's why I believe that senior students or fresh graduates should meet different people as possible as they can via internships and follow these companies' job ads during post-internship period. They may choose to prepare a decent resume considering the tasks they witnessed and update HR professionals of these companies regarding their current status. Even though one couldn't find a job, s/he can get a proper guidance which is beneficial to gain insight on future possibilities.
