Desde la experiencia he visto como estos se ven amenazados por generaciones con habilidades técnicas superiores y en consecuencia comienzan a omitirse conocimientos que independientemente de que colaborar lo haya desarollado, realmente deberia estar a disposicion de todos. Planificar ademas de la mentalidad, consiste en realiza el inventario del conocimiento intagible y subjetivo por ejemplo que puede hacer la diferencia. Saber que el mayor cliente de tu organizacion prefiere el agua con o sin hielo, por trivial que parezca es oro a la hora de cerrar una negociacion.

A smooth transition is best for everyone, so if you have time to plan all your responsibilities that's great but if you don't try and work out the most important elements to hand over and focus on those.

One aspect of training that should be focused on is sustainability of quality. When training a successor it is important to imbibe the culture of maintaining the quality of the products to high standards. Although, newer and cheaper materials have been discovered to reduce cost of production, too cheap materials should not be used in areas where quality needs to be sustained. An example is the recent change in the grades of plastics used to manufacture consumer electronics, some plastics used are a little too weak and tend to fail before the required time. Another example is the quality of semi-conductors used, special care should be taken to ensure there are no shortcuts taken during the selection process of appropriate semi-conductors.

Si vamos a entrenar bien, actualmente adicional a las habilidades técnicas se debe invertir más en las mentalidades de los colaboradores.

This is a good idea but people often do this when they are leaving a role and the struggle is to get the relevant information out of their head and into a document that will then make sense to others. I think people should be encouraged to document as they go so that responsibilities can more easily be transferred.

This is vital in all roles as it helps in so many ways. Relationships are what makes good businesses great as it's the people that shape the roles and ultimately the culture. So where you can keep a record of contacts and where they fit in but remember it's not always what they can do for you but what you can do for them

This is great but remember your successor will want to put their own stamp on things, so make space for fresh ideas and a different perspective. Your time may be over but your role will carry on without you, so don't feel threatened by your replacement
