Childlike is good in data science as long as you can maintain rigor at key points!

1. Identify self-starters who doesnt need hand holding. they dont depent on some one to tell them exactly what to do. 2. Encourage team members who push you for reviews and seek directions. This shows ownership and drive to improve 3. Ignore know-it-alls. They care much about their image and not the problem at hand 4. Identify self-critics, and give them projects in thier areas of strengths to gain confidence in them. slowly increase the complexity 5. Invest in building the basics - domain knowledge, problem solving techniques, technical fluency, ability to build on top of other's ideas 6. Be result-driven and not effort-driven. Let your teams know that the impact they create matters and not the work horse culture.

If you, as a data scientist, are not willing to take the time to learn them and constantly grow, you will be obsolete very quickly. The best data scientists are the best learners.
