I schedule any resulting emails for the morning so that I'm keeping communication boundaries in place, and it's off my plate when I finally log off.

If I take the examples of my Colleagues in the Medical profession; an operation may have been scheduled for 4hrs in theatre but when the patient was being worked on, they realise an unexpected Phenomenon which must be addressed if the Patient is to survive and this may extend the hours in Theatre by another 2 hrs. With the co-operation of everyone,they gell and accept that the job must be done and when its all over you see all smiling faces. This is the same for any Advisory Business situation.
