Vendor selection is based on 2 aspects 1. Critical materials 2. Non critical materials( routine day today materials) For critical materials cross functional team members(Technical) opinion to be taken. Vendor history, there past experience to be studied and their reputation/ratings to be assesed thoroughly. Vendor financial status is the key for high end value items.

Il me semble particulièrement d'aborder la recherche d'un fournisseur en lien avec un cahier des charges spécifique lié à votre projet. La variable prix n'est finalement qu'un élément parmis d'autres. Pour moi par exemple il est fondamental d'avoir une relation de proximité avec mes fournisseurs régulier. J'ai également besoin d'être sur d'avoir une certaine réactivité et je suis également très sensible à la dynamique RSE de l'entreprise... Bref avant de vous lancer dans la recherche d'un fournisseur commencez par établir son "personna" idéal. Cela permettra déjà une présélection importante.

Establece canales de comunicación claros y abiertos con tus proveedores desde el inicio del proyecto. Comunica claramente los requisitos del proyecto, los plazos y las expectativas de desempeño. Fomenta una comunicación bidireccional donde los proveedores puedan plantear preguntas y preocupaciones, y tú puedas proporcionar feedback regular sobre su desempeño y la evolución del proyecto.

Negotiation is not an "Art" but it's a science. For a good Negotiation with respect to cost, delivery timeline one must have- 1. Patience 2. Send clear and complete message 3. Listen more and talk only when needed. 4. Have feedback mechanism 5. Stress on/summaries frequently on key terms and conditions. 6. There has to be win win situation for both the parties.

To enhance project profits are well within the budget strong negotiation is the key factor which will enhance the profit margin. Analyzing the budget, fixing the profit margin and negotiating with stakeholder to an agreement will assure you a straight profit margin and will provide some contigeously too

Need to understand the risks and subsequent mitigation plan. 2. Understand Geo-political situation of the country. 3. Have clarity on payment Terms and delivery timelines. 4. Penalties if any needs to be mentioned upfront. 5. Quantifiable scope document and related addendum must be mentioned 6. Pre condition for breach of contract to be mentioned. 7. Offer and acceptance copy. 8. Mutual intent for the contract.

Scope should be defined properly. Warranty and specification to be clear and both parties need to sign of on contract to avoid any commercial or scope disputes in future that can affect project success and smooth completion.

The contract is a document which defines the clear relationship between the vendor and the client. In order to maintain a good relationship between two parties , this contract should be well drafted and shall all include all risks which may occur during the project. Special conditions of contract should all be incorporated.

Vendor ratings needs to be done on regular basis which keeps healthy completion and provides quality output. The ratings must be done and trainings for their development must be ensured. Rewards and recognition for top performers must be introduced to keep vendors motivated.

Vendor performance should be closely monitored by monitoring their commitment vs performance. Close valuation has to be ensured to keep the work on track and to make decisions whether there is a requirement to look for another stakeholder to get the work done because on any underperformance to coverup the delays

I had a real bad experience with one of the overseas "OEM" supplier wherein the order terms and condions were not Respected resulting in delay in delivery and to wrong location. Failures- 1. Delivery was supposed to be by airway. 2. It's shipped by SEA resulting in delay for more than 30days. 3. Communication was made after 13days of and bill of lading was shared. 4. The destination point was changed without information which costed us additional transportation cost. This was complete mockery of the order terms and this is the problem with "OEM's.
