Juggling communication with numerous clients. How do you maintain transparency and clarity?

I have a system I use to manage my workflow, predicated the book "Take Back Your Life" - which shows you how to use Outlook to help. All software can do 100,000 things, you get the most value however from about 5-10 things. That book helped me immeasurably work smarter, not harder, by leveraging tasks & calendaring effectively. I also have spreadsheets and decks that track customer data, spend patterns, projects & priorities that help me determine who to talk to, when & why.

Prioritizing tasks not only helps in managing time better but also ensures that clients with urgent needs are attended to promptly. Clear communication and transparency are key to fostering strong client relationships.

This is key. Every day when you look at your computer/phone, you will have unread emails, texts, voicemails, LinkedIn messages & meetings. You have to determine with ruthless priority what to focus on first, then second, and so forth. I do so by ALWAYS keeping my eye on the prize - which are my OKRs/MBOs/comp plan. That should guide ALL actions you take and will help you - again - work smarter, not harder.

Very regular communication is important to customers. That is the only way to build trust - and the communication has to primarily written (so it can be tracked) but also feel free to have small-talk through calls/texts/video calls et al. But the true business dialogue should always be documented in-writing.

As I said above, complement your formal business communication with your own brand - in my case, it's humor & levity, in your case, do you! Else all work & no play makes people very boring, as the old adage goes ;^)

This is key. Don't shy-away from any issues, and if need be, take ownership and fall on the sword - b/c in my experience, nobody else will. That is the mark of a true leader - to take the bullet for the team and keep rolling. Everyone takes bullets, just remember it's just a momentary setback and it's a learning opportunity for all; that's all customers want to see - is ownership and responsibility.

Asynchronous communication can be effective for specific and short-format messaging. Exploring video emails, use case recordings, and instructional content can have a significant impact.

Keep them informed of progress, delays, or roadblocks. * Document everything: Maintain clear records of discussions, decisions, and approvals. This fosters transparency and provides reference points if needed. * Be responsive: Aim to respond to inquiries promptly within agreed timeframes.
