Meiner Erfahrung nach ist eine Kombination aus zwei Plattformen die beste Lösung um sein Portfolio zu präsentieren. In erster Linie ist YouTube für mich die go-to Plattform, um seine Videos hochzuladen, Reichweite zu generieren, mit Zuschauern zu interagieren und seine Marke aufzubauen. Zweitens ist ein must-have: Die eigene Webseite. Diese kannst du mach deinem Belieben gestalten und dein Portfolio präsentieren. Viele Webseiten-Systeme wie Wordpress bieten dir die Möglichkeit YouTube Videos in einer Portfolio Ansicht einzubetten. Das hat zwei Vorteile: Die großen Videos liegen nicht auf deinem Webserver, die Besucher sparen ihre mobilen Daten und du sammelst zusätzliche Klicks. Somit kannst du beide Plattformen bestens für dich nutzen.

(less important) Upload all your projects to any video platform (Vimeo would do) and have them sitting there if anyone wants to see them 2. (crucial) Pick three best video projects showing off your skills and the work you can create. Add them to your website and attach them to an email you send to potential clients, etc. The key here is to stick to three max, as people don't have time to review your whole portfolio to see your videos. They don't have time. Choose only the best. Organise them in a way that suits your client.

You didn't write any description for that video and the viewer thought you edited the video. Who did shoot the video? Maybe someone else. Always add descriptions to your works in your portfolio

You update your portfolio by adding projects for which you want to be hired. If you could only choose three, which one would you choose? Choose the best ones and replace them with new and better ones. Your portfolio needs to improve as your work improves. It's good to keep ones from your clients with recognisable brands. They will add a wow factor to your portfolio. When good times come, and creatives have plenty of work, they ignore things like updating their portfolio. Be sure to find time even when you're busy with work, as it's your opportunity to get new clients once you finish with the current projects.

Too often videographers finish a project and immediately move to the next one. It is so important to add things to your portfolio as they are completed or else you will spend a week putting everything together from the past year (speaking from experience). As an added nugget I always send out a LinkedIn recommendation or Google review link upon successful completion of a project. It is best to ask while everything is fresh in the clients mind and they are feeling all of the positive emotions with a successful project.

Not a lot of people are going to search up your website without being prompted. Posting content that drives footfall to your website is a great way to get more eyes on your portfolio. Things like a social video when you launch, existing videos from your portfolio and even podcast style clips can all do a great job at driving web traffic to your site.

Like CVs, people won't be sitting and watching all of your videos, so pick the best, most relevant ones for them to watch. You could even try having multiple portfolios for different clients and styles of videography.

The video you made for your client is not necessarily what you want to add to your portfolio. It might sound odd, but hear me out. The client has its own vision, and during editing, they may suggest changes you might believe are not the best. They are your clients, paying the bill, so they need to like the video first. However, what stops you from re-cutting the video in the way you believe looks the best? Then, add it to your portfolio. Do it in the way it serves your portfolio to get new clients. Think about it as a director's cut.
