What do you do if your ambition is to become a strategy leader in your organization?

To be a leader take time and effort to build the muscle memory. Look very carefully in to the area that you plan to excel within. Look at the industry, read and understand the trends, major players and learn from them. I always recommend having a good mentor to help you navigate the landscape.

If you’re seen as a tyrant or a micromanager, people will leave. So focus on empowering and uplifting those around you.

Although I don't think the reward of continuous learning is being a strategic industry leader, it would be the route I would take personally. Continually educating yourself makes yourself an asset wherever you are. So who else would be the best fit to lead a sector asides one that is vastly equipped with knowledge.

Personally l would volunteer to lead even small projects within the organisation, this would help in getting wider experience.
