In my experience, the best way to build a relationship is to enjoy time together. My nephew a successful commercial real estate broker said it best; “the best way to partner with a business or client, the best way to get their business is to build a relationship of trust and have fun.” Then he went on to explain to me, that he recommended depending on the client’s availability and time, to get to know them on a personal level, to understand them, to be able to offer them the most honest and best approach. He mentioned to me, on my first meetings, I do not talk about business. I was blown away, I ask how could you, what about their time? And yours; he calmy said, on that first meeting I just get to know them and they know me. It works.
