We do not want to get out of this comfort zone little realising that this is the only way forward for our and the organisation's growth. In a rapidly developing and dynamic scenario we need to move ahead embracing these developments. The leader needs to work with his employees, through formal and informal interactions, to understand their fears. He then has to work to develop an atmosphere whereby the employees willingly learn and are ready to accept any changes.

To learning anything new, appropriate training and support is required. We have already gone through this situation during Covid time when the studies switch to Online. Those time adapting to new technology and use it for teaching and learning was mandatory. Proper hands-on training and continuous support to answer their queries until teachers feel confidence, helped in successful implementation of online classes.

I know of situations where 18 months to 2 years have been used up trying to get the "new" technology to work, only to have to scrap it and start over. It shouldn't take that long, and those that use it daily know if it will work.

I began to use it at faculty meetings and a few people began to ask questions and use was contagious. I also remember starting a new central office position in a new district. All inter office communications were paper-based despite the presence of email in district. This time I was more direct. I told all employees that my office would no longer accept paper memos.
