What do you do if you're making common networking mistakes in Entrepreneurship?

When I am a part of masterminds or communities, I give as much value to the individual members as much as I can. For example, in a wealth builders mastermind I am a part of, the topic was on freeing up time. This happens to be one of our specialities with marketing agency owners at Niche in Control. In the mastermind meeting, I gave away our weekly time log, instructions from our course, a video to analyze the time log, & offered to help them audit for free. Then others started sharing their secrets too This is the network effect. 1+1=3

Hmmm A very good dilemma. 1st, where are you and why? 2nd, what is your roll- if any? Networking is like going to summer camp. Who would you like to " hang" with. Who are you " stuck" with and...how best to converse with those you want to? Bring your story. Somebody wants to hear it. Always...

I HATE this and sooo many people show up and throw up in my DMs! But I've started throwing their insincere, canned, chatGPT'd templated automated response back at them with: "Hi ____, nice to hear from you? So, why am I the ideal client for your program?" or "Hey ____, thanks for your kind words. I'd love to know what is so "captivating about my profile" that you "just had to reach out today" so I could "jump onto your calendar"? Gee... why do I RARELY get a response back from those folks...? lol I'm actually starting to look FORWARD to these disconnection requests!

Give more then you take. This may not pay off in the short term, but it will in the long term. If you play the game right, building a company is an infinite game. Difficult approach but 100% the right one IMO.

Do not fool yourself to believe that networking should be measured by its (immediate) pay-off. If you work for an organization, your networking might get audited and as an entrepreneur you may likewise think that such efforts should pay some bills to be worth your time. However, even if some quick wins may suggest you are on the right path, a short sighted approach will never truly leverage the full potential. Valuing relationships means allowing them time to grow without the expectation of any direct gains. Do not force anything and do not allow expectations to stress you. Provide value to others, be authentic and truly interested in the relationships you build. They may provide a wealth of opportunities when you might least expect it.

Relationship building is one of the most important aspects of growing your business and eventually the tribe.
