What are effective policies for integrating art education in K-12 schools?

Educación si recursos humanos y económicos en la sociedad actual, con innovaciones tecnológicas y de otra índole que se suscitan continuamente. Cultura, educación y arte van de la mano. Invertir en recursos como los mencionados anteriormente es como se explica: es el acto de asignar recursos para la compra o creación de activos o de capital, es decir el acto de no consumir esos recursos ahora para satisfacer necesidades en el presente, sino de destinarlos a satisfacer necesidades en el futuro. También necedades de hoy y este acto de asignar: nos habla de valores, a que le damos y ponemos valor y que fuerza tienen en quienes las toman, esos valores: cultura arte y educación.

Absolutely agree that funding and resources are basic needs to support art education. Finding the right person to facilitate art programs I also necessary.

I agree that Art education should be an integral part of the core curriculum. Art and design incorporates such diverse aspects of creativity and opportunity and this is not acknowledged by our government, who have reduced funding for the arts in education.

Desde mi experiencia como Directora de una Escuela Intensificada en Arte, alguna vez escribí: ...pero el currículo es mucho más que lo que se acaba de mencionar, es un constructo histórico, más que la construcción de una teoría terminada, ya que el gran proceso que engloba radica en construir y reconstruirse sucesivamente sobre la experiencia de una sociedad que se pregunta: ¿Qué clase de sociedad deseamos? ¿Qué clase de vida queremos llevar? ¿En qué clase de lugar se convertirán los espacios que habitamos? Podríamos responder a la pregunta: ¿Qué escuela necesitamos? Snow (1997) señalaba que en una única forma de representación entran muchas formas de pensamiento, aun cuando una pueda ser preponderante.

Interdisciplinary art curriculum can be done in so many subjects, science, social studies, math, writing, technology, Spanish and on and on. I have recently retired from a school that I was done with different age levels through various subjects. Students are engaged and interested in learning when you bring in real world knowledge.

Especially for older high school-level students, who might not be choosing art as an elective, having interdisciplinary days, weeks or festivals is a great way to encourage more visual and creative thinking. Students can approach a topic from their chosen angle and gain deeper exposure to a particular topic/period’s ideas, art, literature, scientific discoveries etc. In 2017 a school where I was teaching marked 100 years since the Russian Revolution with an inter-disciplinary arts and humanities week.

Cuando hablamos de la evaluación para la mejora del logro educativo tenemos que tomar como referentes los aprendizajes esperados las competencias para la vida y el perfil del niño o niña o del egresado al que nos estamos refiriendo. Reconocer es tener en cuenta las características de pluralidad de las personas y de los contextos en los que se encuentran involucrados y por otro lado comprender que el aprendizaje y la evaluación dentro de él es un proceso continuo y permanente en el que debe participar el estudiante y debe participar en la manera en que él pueda estar participando y estar en el ámbito educativo en su manera de estar. Esto lo considero nodal para todos los niveles y áreas de aprendizaje.
