I believe, using a CRM is a must for any professional. Especially, for a Sales Professional. We often underestimate the power we have to serve and observe our clients. It may be one of the software mentioned, or even a simple Notion Template could be of great help. If you learn the ropes of properly tagging your contacts to Filter On Demand and build the habit of integrating the CRM into your daily schedule, you'll be a Super Salesperson.

This is something I'm actively working on as well! When I meet someone with whom I find to have an instant connection, I try to have a follow-up one-to-one conversation or coffee chat, of course, if they are interested too. This helps us get to know the person beyond the work we do. You can talk about your motivations, purpose, dreams etc, things we don't often post on social media, but is the real reason that makes us unique. I find that making deep connections is far more fruitful than remaining acquaintances. Quality over quantity any day in this space. Over time, I have found, that it is these connections that have helped me in various situations and not the 100s of names on my list whom I know very little of.

There is a thin line between reminding someone about yourself and obsessing over it. Whenever I have a networking lead, (they would have to be someone who I align with & not just anyone, irrespective of their position) I ensure I take a gap of 2-3 days after the meeting and then initiate the 1st line of conversation. Staying in touch with your network even when you are not selling or asking for a job is vital. When you do want something in the future then you will have a pool ready to talk from. I take the time out to appreciate a milestone, wish them on an occasion, just dropping by to say a 'hi', etc. to be on their mind. Network without an expectation of getting back from people.

In my experience, making deep connections is the way to go when creating a network. Looking at them as a task to keep track of makes it seem impersonal and transactional. What I have found useful in creating connections is: 1. Getting to know the person by having conversations and learning more about the person, their motivations, struggles, dreams etc. 2. Truly being part of people's journey by contributing to their growth, this could be by sharing knowledge, recommending them, or simply motivating them. 3. Staying connected in a way that feels natural to both. Now this can mean more or less often based on both your availability. Remember, staying in touch, and forging connections is a two-way street!

Have an Excel-type tracker, add your top 10 company names in a column, the name of the people you are reaching out to, and the date of the connection/1st message sent. If you don't hear back from them in 3-4 days, connect with someone else in the same organisation, review every day your tracker, add new names and follow up with those who reply to you. That's an example of a system that works but you should do what works best for you and your lifestyle. Just make sure you have a tracking routine in place.
