Which automotive repair and maintenance service providers offer the fastest turnaround time?

For routine maintenance there is no better service than the Quick Lube industry. The average Lube Technician performs more oil changes in a month than a dealership technician does in a year. They are the experts. Most also stock the other items you can't easily find on the road, like air filters; or provide services that are hard to do on the road, like changing the transmission fluid. There is little to no wait time and most are competitively priced compared to the dealer. The savings really add up when you look at the loss of downtime, especially if you're a commercial driver. Like they always say, "If the wheels aren't turning, you're not earning." Unless we're talking about detention pay. But that's another subject entirely.

It's been my experience that mobile techs are a complete waste of time and resources. We just don't need them in my opinion. Bring in where not just one tech is looking at the problems but a whole group of techs.

When it comes to this one it's really no biggie a dealer or dealership will all way out do the independent shop. A dealership has more resources at their finger tips And really need the costumer's to pass on how great it was. It's all about money.

Dealers have more access to computers programmed that the independent shop can’t get, because dealers don’t want to share their complete data, so you have to take your vehicles back to the dealer. That’s true in the automotive industry and big truck industry.

There is no truer judge of a shops competence than customer feedback. Do the job right, provide good customer service, charge a fair price. The reviews will take care of themselves. Miss ANY one of those and the reviews will ruin you. You have to do the job correctly and fix the problem. You have to treat the customer right, keep them informed and provide the service in a reasonable amount of time. You have to charge a fair price, and there should never be a surprise to the customer. They should know what to expect. Word of mouth advertising used to be the best kind of advertising you could get, and with the advent of social media its gotten even more important.
