Active listening, pertinent questions, clear answers and empathy are important skills to remember when communicating, these skills help you not only gather crucial information but also foster a collaborative environment. Remember that every person is different in how they receive information. Some people learn better by reading a paper, or they prefer a visual presentation, others might need hands-on tasks to learn. Having adaptability is key; business analysts must tailor their communication style to better suit their audience/goals.

Ensure there is shared understanding within your team and this can only be done when there is effective communication. Listening attentively and being readily available to recap in clear terms, as many times as possible.
