In my opinion, the ideal outcome of a training session is to have all the training objectives met. In a recent leadership workshop I've conducted, learners participated in a game where teams had to win 3 of 5 rounds. Some learners were so engaged that they played extra rounds even after winning the first 3 rounds. However, poll results also found that some learners felt that the session's pace was too slow as it took a long time for the winning team to emerge. Upon reflection, I realised that winning 2 of 3 rounds would achieve the training objectives as well. However, learners may continue to play more rounds if time permits. With this, the session's pace was adjusted to accommodate individuals with differing opinions.

Make clear rules for engagement at the beginning of the session, for instance, all discussion to be allocated a reasonable time after the presentation, 3.Avoid too much wordings on your presentations, 4. Encourage more of delegate presentation in the form of group representation, 5. Ensure that as facilitator, you have a reasonably strong knowledge of the topic and be prepared to address the differing opinions with technical and tangible reasoning, 6.Control the discussion for it to be within context.
