You don’t fully understand what it’s like to be in education until you get into the building. Even then, it can take 2-3 years to feel comfortable and successful in your classroom. Being flexible is important because administrators can move you around to different positions from year to year without your input. There is a lot of politics in education and you have to be willing to endure it until necessary changes are made, which can be months or years. You have to be willing to fight for change and take the burden of the daily requirements of being responsible for the learning of tiny human beings.
