Provide clear, concise updates on the status of repairs and operational impacts. Remember, misinformation can lead to panic, so it's vital to relay only verified information. Establish a communication protocol for emergencies to streamline the process and ensure that everyone receives the same message.

Another fundamental element in the management of an emergency repair is communication. An adequate communication plan has to be prepared to communicate the progress of the repair to the different stakeholders. Communication must be transparent and as empathetic as possible in order to understand the points of view of all parties involved, both the repair team itself and the stakeholders. On the other hand, communications must present the repair plan with its critical path explaining all possible setbacks that may exist. Finally, a periodic follow-up of the plan has to be done, which depending on the severity can be hourly, daily, every two days, weekly, etc.

The emergency Plan is mandatory for any workplace that may be affected by an emergency situation (in practice all/almost all workplaces). This plan includes the whole set of actions and measures that are necessary to prepare for an emergency. It includes the emergency planning itself, the necessary organization and the technical elements that are necessary to minimize the danger. The plans must be reviewed from time to time and all plant personnel must be familiar with it.
