In one instance, our detailed incident response plan helped us quickly manage a ransomware attack, minimizing downtime and data loss. Regularly updating and testing your incident response plan ensures that your team is prepared to act swiftly and effectively when an incident occurs.

Despite your best efforts, incidents may still occur. Having an incident response plan in place is crucial for reacting quickly and effectively to security breaches. This plan should outline the steps to take when an incident is detected, including containment strategies, threat eradication, and recovery processes. We are seeing now a direct threat to those who do not invest in their future skills and knowledge; posed by aptitude for cyber and also of course AI. I wanted to jump into the "what else to consider" part here because even in the last couple of weeks, we have seen game changing AI which benchmarks well against the human. We need as an industry to look at all the other aspects that AI will not be able to address and behind this is critical thinking. I would advocate that we need to (re)think our approach to cyber security now as the fundamentals in parallel to the above are not being addressed still. We need to connect the dots and leverage these new tools; but also get back to the basics and think carefully about our real risks.
